戴英富:我的曾曽袓父

這次要講的⼈是我的曽曾祖⽗—-戴英冨。他的⽗親是戴廷祥，他⽣於1875年，在⾹港⻑⼤，他的 妻⼦名叫俞灶妹，他有⼀位姊姊名叫戴⻑嬌，⽣於1873年，⼀個弟弟戴英秀⽣於1877年。姊姊⻑ 嬌年紀⼩的時候就死去，所以資料不多。弟弟英秀也是⼩時候就死了。

我想戴英富應該有讀過書，因為他的⽗親去過澳洲很多年，應該會説澳洲英語，⽽他也很注重兒 ⼦的教育，把他送去⾹港最好的學校。他在九⿓城，下沙埔村開⼀家⼩店名叫安記⼠多，賣⼀些 ⽇常⽣活的東西，⻝物等等。

在那個時候，社會是重男輕⼥的。⼥⼈在社會和家中是沒有什麼地位的，她們只是做家務，煮飯 ，種⽥、⽣孩⼦和養育孩⼦，好像機器⼈⼀樣。⼀般中下家庭中，⼥⼈把早餐，午餐和晚餐煮好 以後，家中的男⼈就先吃飯，然後孩⼦和⼥⼈才能吃。這個是⼀個很不好的事情。男⼈⼀不開 ⼼、就發⽪氣，⼤聲叫駡，有時候還會打他的太太。

有⼀天 ，太姑婆去她媽媽的墳墓收⻣頭的時候，看到她的媽媽的肋⻣斷了，她想是被她的爸爸打 斷的。如果有⼀天她死去以後⾒到她爸爸，她想問爸爸，為什麼把媽媽的⻣頭打斷。這真是⼀個 很不好的情形。還好，這種情形，因為社會的進步和教育的機會，就漸漸改變了。每天都在進步 ，這是150年前的事情了，我們的⽣活和品質也⽐以前進步很多。我們是多麼幸福，快樂啊！


 This time I want to talk about Tai Ying Fu, my great great grandfather. His father is Tai Ting Chuen. He was born in 1875 and grew up in Hong Kong. He married Yu Jo Mui. He has an older sister, Tai Cheung Gill born in 1874. A younger brother, Tai Ying Sau born in 1877. Both died early. Therefore, not much information about them. I felt Tai Ying Fu must have studied in school because his father had been to Australia for many years and should be able to speak some Australian English. He paid close attention to his son’s education and sent him to the best school in Hong Kong. He started a small convenience store called On Kee in Lower Sha Po Village, Kowloon City selling daily used items, food ingredients and etc. In those days, it was a society for man. Women has no position in homes and no social status. They did housework, cooking, farming, gave birth to children and nursing them, working like a robot. After they have the food prepared, they and the children would wait for the men in the house to finish eating first and then their turn. This is bad custom. When he got upset, he would lose his temper and shout and would sometimes even hit his wife. Fortunately, the social custom changed gradually with the help of education and progress of the society. It is improving daily. That was the situation 150 years ago. The quality and customs of our living has improved a lot compared with the past.
