郭𡐓，我的外曽曾祖母的故事（續）

上次講到這位有8個孩⼦的⺟親−最⼤的才9 歲。她很努⼒⼯作，賺錢。只要有機會可以賺錢，她 什麼都做。她除了幫⼈接⽣嬰兒以㚈，也去幫嬰兒洗澡。她幫⼈家做⾐服，剪頭髮。她在家中也 賣⽊炭，也幫⼯⼈冲洗眼睛，因為那時的⾺路都很多泥沙，每天下午下班後，⼯⼈的眼睛都很髒 ，外曾曽祖⺟就幫他們⽤清⽔沖洗，她有⼀個⼩⼯具冲⽔，也有⼀個⼩⼯具接⽔，⽽且⽣意很好 ，每天⿈昏就很多⼈來冲洗眼睛。她就這樣把8個孩⼦養⼤。他們都接受很好的教育，甚⾄有的送 到⽇本去唸書。

 Last time, I mentioned this mother with 8 children - the eldest being 9 years old. She worked very hard to earn money. She will do any kind of work only if she has money earning opportunity. Apart from delivering babies, she bathed babies. She did laundry and hair cutting service. She sold wood charcoal from her home. She offered eye washing service to workers. At that time the roads were very dusty. Everyday after finishing work, their eyes were very dirty. My great great grandma used clear water to flush their eyes. She had a small tool to do the flushing and another for receiving the water. Her business was very busy. Every evening, she has lots of patrons coming to her for eye bathing. She raised her 8 children by working in this way. They all received good education,including some studying abroad in Japan.
